Carrito day...

Today was a fun and relaxing day. Earlier we went to Soriana's to buy a few things and while there we realized how many things we really needed, from forks to fruit, well it was so funny at the end of our shopping trip we realized that there was no way we could carry all those bags back to the Tec, even thought the school is around the corner, so we asked the cashier if it would be O.K to take the cart to the school and bring it back she said it was fine. We started to walk down the parking lot and as we were getting closer to the corner we saw that a taxi driver was shaking his head, then i started to hear this wishing sound getting closer, it was the store's security guard running behind us. I turn to him and trying not to laugh I explain to him that we were going to bring the "carrito" right back, he paused a moment looked at all the stuff we had and said, "bueno, pero me lo traen".
Sara and I stared to make our way to the Tec, and as soon as we managed to bring the card over the speed bumps we got stopped yet again by the campus security, "no puende traer eso" said the guard "they are going to think you stole it" I explained to him that the cashier, the store guard had said O.K, so he agreed to let us pass.

So there we go, pushing this bright orange cart full of stuff down the parking lot of the school, I actually asked Sara to do it, I was to embarrassed. She was so funny pushing this rattling basket around and everyone was looking at us.. Oh fun times!!

Then we had to bring the basket back.. That was just as funny...

So we had a great day, another girl has joined us from Wisconsin; her name is Jessica and is also married so we have stuff in common.

Tomorrow morning I'm taking a Spanish test, and the we are doing orientation.. So must go to bed.

I am here!!

I just wanted to post the first pictures. Right now I am going to go to Sorianas, a super market to fill my fridge in my room, last night I was so thirsty and had nothing but a soda.

Yesterday was a really long day. I arrived in Mexico City Airport at 11 a.m. others arrived shortly after but the majority of student came later in the afternoon, it was not until 5 p.m. that we finally started to head to Queretaro. We got here at 9 p.m. exhausted and ready for a shower.

I actually slept very well last night, and since today we have a free day we are going shopping for little things we need, and want.

I meet a nice girl, Sara, who is from New Mexico she is also coming for the summer term and is staying across the hall. The rooms are nice and all have big windows, and super hard bed! so today we are in search of matter toppers.. The weather is perfect, sunny and cool. From my room window I can see other students playing tennis.

That is it for now, I will post more later.. Chao!

Getting ready

Well, I have chosen to write a blog of my newest adventure, studying in the Tec de Monterey in Queretaro Mexico.

I was very fortunate to receive the Villareal Endowed Scholarship, that allows me to travel to Queretaro and study for six weeks in the Tec. The class I will be taking is Latin-American Literature.

This will be the first time I will get to live in a dorm, or travel for this long by myself, but I am looking forward to this wonderful experience. I know I will miss my husband, Jeremy, my mom, my family & friends, but I know as well as they do that this is an opportunity of a lifetime.

I am leaving on Tuesday, May 27 and will return in July 9. I will be keeping up with this blog and will be posting videos and plenty of pictures.

I want to thank all of those who have supported me and will continue to encourage me throughout this experience.
